MAY 2010

God cares for all that he has made. Psalm 145: 9 & 17. God cares for the whole of his creation, every creature and every person. God cares for the poor, the widows and the orphans. God speaks a blessing over the one who considers the poor, Psalm 41:1. The Lord sustains the fatherless and the widow, Psalm146:9 and in 1Timothy 5:16 we are told to help the widows, and that we should also visit the widows and orphans in their affliction, James 1: 27. In Qwa Qwa we have been moved by the plight of the many single unemployed mothers and the orphans. We are presently, with your aid, helping about seventy orphans and a number of widows and single mom’s and their children. We thank you for your generous support. A special thank you to His Place Church, Sussex, for your ongoing support for the orphans.

Ministry in the Schools.

Praise God that we have started our first Life Skills course at Rantsane High School. Busi, together with her team which she is training on Saturdays, started the course on the first Thursday of the new term. The school asked them to start with the grade nines. There are four classes of grade nines totalling 170 pupils. They do the course after school, dividing the group into two. The pupils are very happy and appreciative of what they are learning. So much so, that the teachers also want to sit in on the groups. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will raise up more workers who will be prepared to be trained to assist with the work. Praise God for small beginnings. Pray that a SU Life Skills worker will go down to train some more volunteers.

The Move.

On the 21st & 22nd May John and I, God willing, will make the move to Qwa Qwa. We will be going in three vehicles and pulling two trailers. God has raised up some helpers for us. John’s daughter, Glenda and her boy friend Dennis have volunteered to help. Dennis has a 2×4 double cab bakkie. He will tow the one trailer. We will use the Jeep to tow the other trailer. John will travel down in his own car. We need extra hands to help load and unload the trailers. Pray with us that Russell will be free to help drive and load and unload the trailers, and that Gary will be willing to help as well. It will be important for at least one of them to come to drive Cynthia and the Jeep trailer back home. Pray that we will be able to raise enough money for fuel and refreshments for the trip. Pray too for our safety as we travel. We are not accustomed to pulling heavy trailers.

Because we will be moving so soon we will not be doing any mission trip in May, although, God willing, we would like to get a qualified SU Life Skills trainer to come with us to train the team in Lusaka Church.

We go in humble, submissive faith in the God who has called us to do a work here in Qwa Qwa, confident that he who called us to this work will cause us to accomplish the vision he has given us and will supply all that we need to accomplish his work in Qwa Qwa. Click here to view Our Vision statement and here to view Our Mission statement . If you would like to read our full vision statement or an abbreviated version of it please let me know and I will e-mail a copy to you.

Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support. God willing, our next news letter will come to you from Qwa Qwa and not JHB.

God bless you all.

Love in Jesus

Reg & Cynthia Schafer and John King.
